How It All Started
My journey into dog training began with my dog, Bowie. I’ve had dogs my entire life, but my pitbull–heeler mix was the first to truly challenge me. He was anxious, high-energy, reactive, pulled relentlessly on leash, and didn’t listen—everything I thought I wasn’t supposed to struggle with as a “dog person.” I felt embarrassed bringing him to group classes, so instead I hired a trainer to teach me how to train, planning to work with Bowie privately at home. Along the way, I fell in love with the process—learning how dogs think, how behavior is shaped, and how much progress is possible with the right approach. That experience changed everything… and here we are
What Balanced Pups Stands For
My approach focuses on cutting through the frustration of “why isn’t anything working for this dog?” and replacing it with clarity, connection, and progress. I’m here to make life easier—and more enjoyable—for both of you. With the right tools and a little patience, I truly believe you can have a calm, confident, happy dog who can move through the world at your side and enjoy daily life, no matter the environment.
What We Do
I offer personalized, in-home training sessions that fit right into your daily routine. My mission is to help you and your dog get on the same page—whether that means tackling reactivity, mastering the basics, or just making life a little smoother. And the best part? I’m with you for the long haul. Even after our sessions wrap up, I’m here as your go-to resource for any questions or support you might need. My services extend to group classes and specialty workshops once you’ve set the foundations for your dog in the home. These include exposure to public spaces, agility training and continued support with reactive cases through controlled pack walks and group encounters.
A Little About Me
I’m passionate about educating and supporting my clients, but I’m also realistic and down to earth—I know that everyone’s schedule and lifestyle look different. If my usual training approach doesn’t fit seamlessly into your life, I’ll adapt and find an effective way to keep you and your pup moving forward. I’m a problem solver at heart, always eager to learn and refine my skills, because dog training has no finish line. It’s an ongoing process, and it should feel practical, accessible, and easy to integrate into everyday life.
